The scholarship I gratefully received last year has helped me level some of the costs of going through the examination process for HVET and HVEA, which took my mind off the financial side of working towards my appointment, so I could focus on the practical and technical sides.

… Juggling this, as well as part-running the operations side of Piako Transport Engineering, has been a task and a half, but knowing I’m only an HVE email away from expert industry advice and a technical shoulder to cry on has been some relief.

So cheers to the Committee for helping starter outers like myself, it means a great deal and shows future members how involved they can be in the transport industry.

It is also great to see Waka Kotahi supporting the industry and developing systems and scholarships with groups such as HVE. It can be the foothold some aspiring students and transport affiliates need to step up to the certification process.
